This was a dream day for me! Hawaii has been on my bucket list for a while to photograph a wedding at. And this day was perfection. It took place on the beautiful island of Oahu at Waialua Valley Farms. While this wedding took place on Oahu, I love traveling between the Hawaiian islands and adore capturing love stories as a Maui wedding photographer.
While this wedding took place on Oahu, I’m often asked about weddings on other Hawaiian islands. As a destination wedding photographer, I’d love the opportunity to capture a wedding in Maui! With its breathtaking cliffs, golden beaches, and lush landscapes, Maui is a dream location for couples seeking a romantic, tropical setting. Couples planning a wedding in Hawaii often wonder: Oahu or Maui? While Oahu offers a mix of vibrant city life and scenic landscapes, Maui is known for its secluded beaches and luxury resorts. Whether you’re saying ‘I do’ on the shores of Waikiki or in a private cove in Maui, choosing the right location comes down to the atmosphere you want to create.
The Vendors That Made This Day Come Together
Oahu Wedding Venue
Now, let’s get into the beautiful details of this wonderful day on Oahu! The venue, like I mentioned before, was Waialua Valley Farms. It is located around 40-50 minutes northwest of Honolulu and the airport. Something to consider if you are planning a destination wedding and are having a lot of guests fly in. The venue is best suited for small, intimate weddings. The parking is a bit limited and only has space for 20 parked vehicles. You may need additional transportation if your wedding exceeds that number of vehicles. The venue rental includes a stunning cliffside yard that is commonly used for ceremonies, a bridal suite for getting ready, a covered barn for indoor receptions, a covered patio for cocktail hour, and an another yard for outdoor receptions.
The venue is relatively new and has a modernized and luxury feel to it. It first started taking weddings in 2023. Waialua Valley Farms does require you to use some, but not all, of their preferred vendors. If you choose to have your destination wedding here, you will have to use one of their preferred rental vendors. But as far as I know, you are able to choose your own planner, florist, etc.
Rentals: Tables, Chairs, Linens, etc.
The rental company that was used for this day was Pacific Party Rentals. They offer a wide variety of rentals to choose from. They have multiple table, chair, lighting, dish ware, and glassware, and more for you and your planner to choose from. Pacific Party Rentals offers rentals for all price ranges, making it super easy to work with them.
The offer delivery or self pick-up. If you choose to go with self pick-up, you are able to collect the rentals from 9am-12pm on the day of the event. Then, you must return the rentals the next day between 9am-12pm.
Oahu-Based Florist
The lovely florals were done by Sophia Kim, who owns Sophia Wed Florals. She did a wonderful job taking the inspiration and making it happen on the day of the event. She is such a kind, sweet woman and it was a joy to work with her on this. Sophia offers a variety of floral options for you, from real and fake floral arrangements.
Wedding Stationary Artist
Wild Berry Paper Studio blew me out of the water with her creations. Nicole is the owner and designed behind Wild Berry Paper Studio and specialized in hand painted stationary. Her work does an amazing job at encompassing the natural environment of your wedding and incorporating thought out details that mean so much to you. Nicole turns regular wedding invitations into true works of art.
Oahu Make Up Artist
Manda was the make up artist for the day and owns MUA Manda. She is a very experienced natural glam makeup artist based in Oahu. She has stepped into training other make up artists to help grow the industry. Manda did stunning work on our beautiful bride, enhancing her natural beauty.
