I read a quote recently that said something along the lines of: “I’ve been to weddings where everything was perfect, but the couple looked and felt so stressed and didn’t seem to enjoy their wedding at all. I’ve also been to weddings where nothing went as planned, but the couple was swooning in love and enjoying every minute of their day. Those are some of the most beautiful weddings I have ever witnessed.” This Gulf Shores Alabama wedding fits in with that last part. Jacklyn and Patrick’s Gulf Shores Alabama wedding embodies that second sentiment beautifully. Their day may not have had the perfect weather they dreamed of, but it was absolutely one of the most beautiful celebrations I’ve ever had the privilege to photograph.
For their destination wedding in Alabama, the couple rented a stunning three level beach house that served as both their Gulf Shores wedding venue and accommodation for their closest family and friends. This incredible property featured multiple living spaces, numerous bedrooms, a sparkling pool, and a private boardwalk leading directly to the Gulf Shores beach. The wedding party and family could stay together in the house throughout the entire wedding weekend, creating an intimate atmosphere where everyone could prepare, celebrate, and enjoy each other’s company.
When the rain started to come down immediately after the couple’s first look (and I mean within seconds), the party was moving inside. Cocktail hour and the reception was held underneath the house, in the carport. Jacklyn & Patrick’s wedding became a testament to what really matters: the love between two people and the joy of celebrating that love with family and friends.
